Injury Roundup: Faulk injures left ankle, shouldn’t miss any games

St. Louis running back Marshall Faulk sprained his left ankle in the Rams’ 28-24 win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, but the injury shouldn’t force him to miss any games.

Faulk, who was held to 72 total yards, was injured in the fourth quarter. He also missed time in the second half with a tendon problem in his right foot, but after the game he said he felt good.

The Rams anticipate Faulk being at full strength for next Monday’s game against the Chicago Bears. Coach Mike Martz said Faulk had a mild high-ankle sprain.

Chargers backup linebacker Carlos Polk left with a sprained ankle in the third quarter.

Bengals defensive tackle Oliver Gibson tore his left Achilles’ tendon, and cornerback Ligarius Jennings tore his left ACL against Baltimore. Both are expected to be out for the season.

Giants wide receiver Tim Carter tore his Achilles’ tendon against Minnesota and is out for the season.

Chicago quarterback Chris Chandler sprained his neck in the second quarter and left the Bears’ game against New England.

Chandler, starting the game in place of injured Jim Miller, was hurt as he surged ahead on a fourth-and-1 play from the Bears 41, picking up the first down.

Chandler had a collar on after the game and said he should feel better in a couple of days.

Miller, who has a sore elbow, came in to replace Chandler.

Green Bay running backs Ahman Green (mild concussion) and Najeh Davenport (sprained ankle) left the Packers’ game against the Lions.

Titans tight end Frank Wycheck was hit on the second possession of the game against Houston and didn’t return because of a concussion. It was his third game wearing a new helmet designed to protect against concussions.

Redskins receiver Jacquez Green missed the entire game except for one play :quot; the first interception by Shane Matthews, in which Green’s right leg was caught by a cleat. He had a deep gash below the knee and never returned.

Also, Jaguars defensive tackle John Henderson left in the first half with a concussion.
