Kansas evens record at tourney

? Kansas University won its final two games in Friday’s pool play to even its record at 2-2 at the Capital Classic softball tournament.

The Jayhawks (13-9 overall and 2-2 in the tournament) lost 1-0 to California before dumping Miami (Ohio), 5-4, and San Jose State, 5-3.

Against Miami, the Jayhawks scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and two runs in the bottom of the seventh after trailing 4-1.

The Jayhawks banged 10 hits, including three homers, in the victory over San Jose State.

KU will play Middle Tennessee at 11 a.m. today.
