Shannon Rose Halpin, Lawrence, and Marshall McGinnis, WaKeeney, were married Aug. 30, 2008, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. John Schmeidler officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Patrick Halpin and Erin Callahan-Halpin, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Mike and Verla McGinnis, WaKeeney.
Maid of honor was Kate Robinson. Best man was Matt Neuman. Bridesmaids were Michelle Dinges, Connie Zeender, Jessica McGinnis, Alice Karakas-Neuman and Kelli Walt. Groomsmen were Cuyler Halpin, Frank Jaksa, Brendan Halpin, Eric Blevins and Brandon Hille. Ushers were Kevin and Alan Callahan, Zach Dinges and Troy Walt. Candlelighters were Jayme Lisher and Lindsey Lawrence. Readers were Elizabeth Hickert-Fike, Ann Wright and Jake Klima. Guest book attendants were Grace and Nora Cresswell and Mara and Andrew Mescher. Flower girl was Cora Mescher. Ringbearer was Thayne Walt. Gift bearers were Josh and Michelle Callahan. Bride’s attendant was Allison Jaksa.
A reception was given at Abe and Jake’s Landing.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Free State High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance at Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas, in 2004, and a juris doctorate from Washburn University law school in 2007. She is employed at the Sprint Nextel Corporate Headquarters in Overland Park.
The groom is a 1999 graduate of Trego Community High School, WaKeeney. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Washburn University in 2003, and a juris doctorate from Washburn University law school in 2007. He is an associate counsel for Creative Marketing in Leawood.
The couple reside south of Lawrence.
