Reasonably priced e.l.f. cosmetics are a great find.

In looking through Sunday’s Journal-World ads, I saw some sales on cosmetics in CVS, Walgreens, and Target. I also had received a flyer from Kohl’s for 15% off cosmetics.

Recently I tried a brand of makeup that was new to me. I have heard of the e.l.f. brand, but had never tried it. Usually, when buying cosmetics, I tend to stay loyal to brands I’ve used for years. I have been using Maybelline Great Lash mascara since I was a teen.

I will admit I like to browse the cosmetic department when I am in CVS, Walgreens, and Target. I like to check out anything new that I’ve read about or look for the latest nail polish color, etc.

Not too long ago, I was in Target looking for lip gloss. The e.l.f. display caught my eye, and I thought what a perfect time to try this line. I would start with the lip gloss. The prices for e.l.f. cosmetics start at $1. No, this is not a typo. This includes cosmetics and tools to apply your make-up. So far, the highest price I’ve seen on an e.l.f. product is $4.99. I’ve seen these products sold at Target and Hy-Vee.

Anyone who wears cosmetics knows that prices for these items can be outrageous. And I know, if you’re like me, there are certain brands that you are not willing to give up. But, if you also like to experiment with different products and colors, e.l.f. is a great way to do that without breaking the bank.

Since then, I have also purchased eye shadow, blush, concealer, and highlighter in this brand. My review of these products is great. I have not been disappointed yet. The products I’ve used have applied nicely. I sometimes have problems with my eye shadows creasing after a full day. I’ve had really good results with the e.l.f. shadows I purchased. I had been using an Aveda brand highlighter, but found the e.l.f. brand is just as subtle.

But am I ready to give up my Great Lash mascara?
