Stay Ahead of the Coupon Game with this Timely Tip

Another week has passed and here we are; it’s Sunday again. This week I’m writing to you from Asheville, North Carolina where I’m attending a Blogger’s Conference. As I was looking through the ads, the coupons and the sales I thought to myself: “I’ve got to get Eric to pick up several papers for me this weekend”. I’m assuming it will be easier for my husband to pick up the papers than it will for me to lug home several copies of the Asheville Citizen-Times. This weekend brings us 3 inserts: Red Plum, Smart Source and P & G.

The week ahead of me is packed full.. kids’ activities, planning another trip and working on a campaign with Libby’s to bring families back to the table for dinner…I’m guessing there won’t be a lot of coupon cutting OR heavy shopping in my house. We will eat from the freezer and the cupboards and make a quick dash to the store for produce and dairy.

So why am I making my husband take all three kids out to purchase papers if I’m not going to be there to even get them cut? Because more often than not, the best sale/coupon match ups come a couple of weeks after the inserts are printed.

Just another important piece of planning that you can do to help your family save money is to make sure you check the coupon inserts each week. If you see one that you might use…or your could see making a great deal with the right sale…clip it and file it away for that rainy day. Now in two or three weeks when I tell you about a great deal using today’s coupons….you will be prepared to shop that deal like a pro.
