Answer: My favorite athlete during my childhood was Michael Jordan and my favorite movie was Space Jam, so I’ll have to go with Michael Jordan in Space Jam. Having Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing and other NBA stars helped make Space Jam memorable as well. I hope LeBron James stays true to his word and doesn’t try to help make a sequel.

Answer: Best — O.J. Simpson killed it in the “Naked Gun” movies; Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in “Airplane!” Bad — Any of the athletes (except Rex Walters and Adonis Jordan) and coaches (except Tark) associated with “Blue Chips. Come to think of it,
the the “actors” in that movie weren’t too spiffy, either; any of golfers in “Tin Cup.” Come to think of it, the “actors” in the movie weren’t too spiffy, either. Off-the-charts awful — Wilt Chamberlain as Bombaata in “Conan the Destroyer.”

Answer: I’ve gotta go with Ray Allen as Jesus Shuttlesworth in “He Got Game.” I’m sure some of what went on in the recruitment for Jesus was very real for Allen during his recruitment and I’m sure that made his ability to play the character in true-to-life form even easier. Regardless, Allen was great in the movie, as was former Los Angeles Laker Rick Fox, who played “Chick Deagan” and tried to help recruit Shuttlesworth to college hoops powerhouse Tech U.

Answer: The best performance by an athlete in Hollywood: I guess I’ll go with Leo Durocher appearing in the Munsters and Mr. Ed. I don’t think Durocher made it to the Brady Bunch or the Partridge Family, but he might have. I can’t think of anybody else except O.J. Simpson in the Naked Gun movie(s).
