August 18th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Not a whole lot of activity this morning considering it was the first overnight with the KU residence halls open.

Officers in Lawrence responded on six disturbances this morning. Two of those were reported to be domestic related and were not reported until after 3 a.m., and both resulted in Domestic Battery arrests. The other disturbances seemed to occur in the normal late night/early morning spots, most within a few blocks of Mass Street.

Police checked on two reports of gunshots heard. The first report was in the 3000 block of Bob Billings Parkway around 2:40 a.m.. The second was reported shortly before 3 a.m., in the 500 block of Eldridge Drive.

None of this morning’s activity was reported to have involved any serious injuries.

The activity blogged here is only a sampling of some of the things that Douglas County Law Enforcement and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical respond on.
