October 30th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Police around Douglas County were kept pretty active with another night of disturbances, noise complaints, vehicle stops and several burglaries.

Police received several complaints of a believed intoxicated driver in the 1200 block of W 6th Street. Two officers responded to the area and were unable to locate the vehicle. Officers did catch up with an intoxicated driver on K-10 just after 4:20.

Just after 3 a.m. Police arrived on an injury accident in the 300 block of N 2nd Street. Fire/Medical was requested to respond to the scene and determined the injuries to be minor.

About an hour later, just after 4 a.m. Eudora Police and Fire/Medical crews were on the scene of a medical emergency when Emergency Dispatchers received a 911 call from the 900 block of Pine Street. That caller reported flames being visible near the top of an apartment building in the complex. Fire crews were just around the corner on the medical emergency and arrived quickly to find nothing showing. A firefighter made contact with the person who called 911 reporting the fire, and it was determined that there was not a fire. The caller was seeing the reflection of the emergency vehicle’s lights on the medical emergency call.

Around 5:40 this morning, Lawrence police discovered several burglaries in the 800-900 blocks of W 28th Street. There was not much information available about the burglaries, other then there have been three reported as of this report.

KDOT has more construction scheduled to start on Monday, October 31st, for K-10. The work is being called “Emergency project.” Learn more about this project here.
