October 1st Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Police in Lawrence conducted a number of bar checks last night, writing several alcohol violations.

Rural Leavenworth County Fire and EMS responded on an injury accident on 24/40 Highway near Loring Road just before midnight. Three people were said to have suffered minor injuries. Loring Road just approximately a mile and a half north of the 24/40 interchange with K-32.

Back in Lawrence, LPD also responded on several noise complaints, disturbances and conducted numerous vehicle stops.

Around 1:15 a.m. Lawrence Police investigated reports of gunshots heard in the area of the 2000 block of W 27th Street. Several officers were in that area when the shots were fired and they also reported hearing the same shots. While investigating the gunshots, officers also witnessed fireworks in the air a few blocks away. No one was able to be located regarding the gunshots or the fireworks.

Police investigated reports of fireworks in the 1200 block of W 10th Street around 3 a.m. No one was able to be located.
