Thursday, May 26

The night started off just after 10 p.m. with a report of a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Northwood Lane. Police responded and found that the disturbance was related to an issue involving, what Police referred to as “a child out of control.” Police did what they could to calm the situation. Seems to have worked as there were no other calls for service at this address for the rest of the night.

Wet roads possibly were to blame for a non injury accident in the 800 block of Massachusetts Street at 10:30 p.m. Traffic was restricted for a few short minutes, did not seem to be causing to much of an issue for anyone trying to pass through the area. Police also responded on a second non injury accident in the 1300 block of Ohio just after 2:30 a.m.

Again, the majority of the overnight hours were consumed with the normal calls for Lawrence Police. Car stops, a few 911 hang up calls and at least 4 disturbances. No serious injuries were reported during any activity throughout Douglas County overnight.
