July 29th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Shortly before 10 p.m. Lawrence Police and Fire/Medical responded on an injury accident in the 500 block of Rockledge Road. It was unclear the extent of injuries involved.

As 11 p.m. came around, Lawrence Fire and Police were responded to a report of a dumpster fire in the 1600 block of West 8th Street. Fire units arrived to find two dumpsters heavily involved with fire, no structures were in danger of catching fire. There was a car parked about 15 feet from the dumpsters. The fire was quickly knocked down and brought under control.

Just before 1 a.m. Police contacted a subject who was reportedly walking and stumbling into the roadway in the 2100 block of Iowa Street. That subject was taken cited for public intoxication. Lawrence Police made three DUI arrests in the early morning hours. Arrests were reported in the 200 block of Hanover Place, the 800 block of West 10th Street and the third in the 500 block of Congressional Drive.

Law Enforcement Officer throughout the county responded on a number of disturbances and conducted numerous vehicle stops. None of the activity, that I heard, involved the use of any weapons or resulted in any serious injuries overnight.
