Lawrence Police responded on a little bit of everything overnight, from fireworks to a subject that attempted to flee from officers.

The fireworks complaint at 8 p.m. in the 2300 Block of W 26th Street. One officer responded and was unable to locate anyone in that area with fireworks. About an hour later Police responded to the 2000 Block of West 31st Street or a shoplifting call, no arrests were made.

Just before midnight, officers received a report of a burglary in the 500 Block of Minnesota Street. Two officers responded and found there was an active burglary. Three more units were dispatched to the area. When the original two officers made their way closer to the address a subject ran from inside and attempted to flee from officers. A perimeter was set in the area and the subject was arrested shortly after.

Police also responded on the usual calls for noise complaints, 911 hang ups, disturbances and animal complaints.
