First-time delegate wowed
Editor's Note: Doris Riley is one of three Kansas delegates to the Republican National Convention who will be blogging on LJWorld.com. Check back often to see what they're saying.I am a first time delegate and this is an awesome experience knowing its our responsibility to cast a ballot for the nominee, Senator John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin. Our first day was truncated due to Hurricane Gustav, and our hearts and prayers are with the gulf states. However, there was some official business that had to be conducted, and we were able to finish the necessary work. I am grateful that everything turned out for the Gulf States, and that great tragedy was adverted. It looks like everything will be back on track and on schedule later today, but we are waiting for the official word from the McCain campaign. I am looking forward to the events and session later this evening. In the meantime it's been great connecting with other delegates from around the country and getting to know the members of the Kansas delegation.

Who runs this party: the McCain campaign or the Republican National Committee? Or is it Roger Ailes?
