Apartment gates damaged

Law enforcement report Burglaries and thefts reported ¢ A Tuckaway Apartments employee reported the apartment’s gate cylinders were damaged Wednesday. The damage estimate is $3,000. The incident occurred at about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday at the apartment complex, 2600 West Sixth Street. ¢ Lawrence police recovered a 1992 Chevy Caprice that was reported stolen Tuesday from the 1100 block of East 18th Street. The car was valued at $1,500. A 35-year-old Lawrence man also reported several other items in the vehicle were stolen including hand tools, an insulation bander and a Carthartt jacket. The total value of those items was reported at $770. ¢ A 27-year-old Lawrence woman reported a credit card theft of $1,400. The theft occurred about 2 p.m. March 14. ¢ A 21-year-old Lawrence student reported a 2002 Yamaha Moped valued at $1,750 was stolen from the 1200 block of Tennessee Street.
