Police investigate child endangerment

Here are recent crime reports in Lawrence:¢ The District Attorney’s office is reviewing a case of possible endangerment of a child after police found two children left in a car last week.According to Lawrence police, a woman shopping in Checkers, 2300 Louisiana St., saw two children alone in a car when she entered and exited the store about 15 minutes apart.Police interviewed the woman and took a report, then located the 41-year-old mother of the children at her home. Police noted at the time that the children appeared to be in good health.The report was then sent to both the district attorney’s office and Social and Rehabilitation Services for review.¢ Police responded to reports early Sunday morning of a dog left outside for at least four hours without access to food or shelter. The temperature, police said, was about 7 degrees outside.An animal control officer found the dog on the 3300 block of West Eight Street and located a neighbor, who let the dog inside.Police left a business card for the owner of the dog to make contact.
