The specifics on when Lawrence police officers will appear on the TV show ‘COPS’

The Lawrence Police Department has been teasing since last summer that its officers at work were going to be featured on the reality TV show “COPS.” And, finally, there’s an update to that.

It’s happening.

Tune in (or set your DVR) at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 to see the episode, the police department tweeted Wednesday.

“COPS” is on Spike/Paramount, with new episodes airing at 7 p.m. Mondays, according to the show website. The show tweeted this picture — with Lawrence cops and show crew members chowing on donuts in front of a Lawrence police cruiser — back in late June.

The show website doesn’t yet list details for airings as far out as Jan. 29. Whatever LPD gets into, though, I hope it’s good enough to score an episode title rivaling these recent — yet already taken — ones: “Cookies and Contraband,” “Lady Bit My Finger,” “Put Your Clothes Back On” and “Blood And Scars, Bro!”
