Vehicle crashes into tree, catches fire near cemetery

A vehicle hit a tree and caught fire in the area of the Oak Hill Cemetery over the weekend.

Police officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Elmwood Street about 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Officer Derrick Smith said, in an email. He said a vehicle struck a tree in the area and caught fire, but when officers arrived no one was there.

Smith said Monday morning that police were still investigating the incident.

The cemetery lies just east of Elmwood Street.
