KU softball splits doubleheader during Rock Chalk Challenge

On the second day of the Rock Chalk Challenge, the Kansas softball team split a doubleheader against Nebraska and Tulsa.

KU (6-19) started things off with a 2-0 win over Nebraska. Sydnee Ramsey, Brittany Jackson and Morgyn Wynne tallied all three hits for the Jayhawks in the win. Brynn Minor (3-10) earned the victory after tossing seven scoreless frames, allowing just four hits to go along with six strikeouts and two walks.

The offense struggled in the nightcap, as Kansas suffered a 4-0 defeat to Tulsa. Tarin Travieso (0-1) was credited with the loss in the start. Travieso allowed two runs off four hits over four innings of work. Minor and Shelby Hughston tallied the only two hits for KU.

Kansas will take on Nebraska at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
