KU women’s basketball toppled by Texas

Texas scored at least 19 points in all four periods en route to a 91-73 win over the Kansas women’s basketball team Saturday night at Allen Fieldhouse.

KU (12-10, 2-9 Big 12) was trailing by a 24-11 margin in the opening period, and was never able to recover. The Longhorns (19-5, 9-3) scored 19 points in the second quarter before adding 26 points in the third period and 22 in the final frame.

In a losing effort, senior Kylee Kopatich led the team with 18 points in 30 minutes of action. Kopatich went 7-for-12 from the floor, including 2-of-5 from deep. Aniya Thomas and Austin Richardson joined her in double figures with 15 and 10 points, respectively.

Kansas travels to Oklahoma at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
