Three months after his first day on the job, University of Kansas Athletic Director Jeff Long has announced another hire.

Terry Prentice, who is currently director of development at the Razorback Foundation at the University of Arkansas, has been named assistant athletics director for major gifts/track administration/diversity initiatives at the University of Kansas, Long announced Friday afternoon.

Prentice, who will serve as a member of the athletics director’s senior staff, will work closely with the senior-level development staff to develop and implement annual fundraising efforts. He will also identify and solicit prospective and current major gift donors, and will work with the Kansas University Endowment Association regarding fundraising endeavors.

Prentice will work closely with the assistant AD and human resources, and will serve as chair of an employee committee created to identify and recruit qualified members of underrepresented demographic groups, with the goal of creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce.

In addition, Prentice will serve as the sport administrator for men’s and women’s track & field team and cross-country program.
