Amy Thorpe and Jim Gabriel, both of Eudora, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Richard and Lynda Thorpe, Papillion, Neb. She is a 1990 graduate of Papillion LaVista High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1994. She was a deputy sheriff in Lancaster County, Neb., from 1995 to 2004. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Arizona State University in 2007 and was a registered nurse in Mesa, Ariz.
The future groom is the son of Robert and Dee Gabriel, Eudora. He is a 1990 graduate of Eudora High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from Kansas State University in 1994. He is the co-owner and operator of Gabriel Farms Inc., in Eudora.
The couple plan an April 3, 2009, wedding at Clarice L. Osborne Chapel at Baker University.
