Ted and Nancy Knopp, Wichita, announce the engagement of their daughter Emily Jean Knopp to Zackary John Hood, both of Huntington, W. Va.
The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Wichita Southeast High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 2007 and a Masters of Science degree in health education in 2008, both from Kansas University. She is employed with a private business.
The future groom is the son of Timothy and Rhonda Hood, Creston, Iowa. He is a 2003 graduate of Creston High School. He earned a Bachelor of General Studies degree in history from KU in 2007 and a Master of Arts degree in athletic administration from the University of South Dakota in 2008. He is a graduate assistant and running backs coach for Marshall University and the Thundering Herd football team.
The couple plan a May 23, 2009, wedding at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence.
