Grassland Heritage Foundation to have native plant sale and presentations in Lawrence

The Grassland Heritage Foundation will have its sixth annual native plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday on the lawn of Trinity Episcopal Church lawn, 1011 Vermont St.

Foundation members will be on hand to assist buyers in choosing from the more than 50 varieties of native wildflowers and grasses on sale. Also available will be garden to-go kits with pre-selected species for planting in the sun or partial shade.

Foundation members will also provide three short presentations on native gardening. The presentations times and topics:

• 9:30 a.m. — Learning the basics of native gardening and garden to-go kits.

• 10:30 a.m. — Planting urban butterfly gardens.

• 11:30 a.m. — Benefits of planting native grasses and sedges.
