Veritas wins first game of KCAA state basketball tourney

Veritas Christian’s boys basketball team shot 49 percent from the field and earned a 70-48 victory over Manhattan CHIEF in the first round of the KCAA state tournament Thursday in Salina.

Juniors Tucker Flory and Trey Huslig combined for 43 points. The Eagles, the defending KCAA state champions, will play in the semifinals at 5 p.m. today.
