Playing in the Sunflower Festival, Lawrence High’s softball team split a pair of games Friday. The Lions won 10-1 against Great Bend and lost 1-0 to St. Thomas Aquinas at College Boulevard Activity Center in Olathe.

In the victory over Great Bend, senior pitcher Zoe Brewer struck out 12 while the offense did more than enough. Angelina Harjo hit a home run while five players recorded at least two hits. Brewer added six more strikeouts in the loss to St. Thomas Aquinas.

The Lions (4-3) will play Maize South and St. James Academy in Olathe today.
