Veritas, Seabury volleyball compete at McLouth tournament

The Veritas Christian and Bishop Seabury volleyball teams competed at the McLouth tournament on Saturday.

The Eagles (14-5) posted a record of 2-3 with wins over Maur Hill, 25-13, 25-20, and McLouth, 25-22, 25-23. Veritas lost to Perry-Lecompton, 25-18, 25-21, and suffered two setbacks to Heritage Christian by the scores of 25-21, 25-11 and 25-13, 25-15.

Chloe Holland paced the Eagles with 47 digs, 23 kills, six blocks and three aces. Emma Wilson added 29 digs, 26 assists, six blocks and three aces.

Veritas will play next at Marais des Cygnes on Tuesday.

The short-handed Seahawks went 1-3 at the McLouth tournament.

The lone win for the Seahawks (2-6) came in pool play against Kansas City Christian, 25-7, 25-10.

The Seahawks lost in straight sets against McLouth, 26-24, 25-16, and Atchison County Community, 25-16, 25-11, to round out pool play. Seabury fell to Perry-Lecompton, 25-15, 25-16, in tournament play.
