Kansas senior Frank Mason III, who figures to earn many postseason accolades in the next week, joined freshman teammate Josh Jackson on the 10-member Wooden Award All-American Team, announced Monday night by the Los Angeles Athletic Club.

Mason was one of the top five vote-getters, which made him a finalist for the Wooden Award, given to the most outstanding player in college basketball. The other finalists include: Lonzo Ball (UCLA), Josh Hart (Villanova), Caleb Swanigan (Purdue) and Nigel Williams-Goss (Gonzaga).

Mason led the Jayhawks with 20.9 points and 5.2 assists per game, the first player in Big 12 conference history to average more than 20 points and five assists throughout a season.

The Petersburg, Va., native was a 49 percent shooter from the floor, 47.1 percent from behind the 3-point line and 79.4 percent at the free-throw line. He added 4.2 rebounds per game and ranked third on the team with 47 steals.

Mason ended his four-year career at KU as sixth on the all-time points list (1,885), sixth in assists (576) and eighth in made 3-pointers (185).

Jackson, the Big 12’s freshman of the year, averaged 16.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, completing a KU freshman-record 13 double-doubles.

The Wooden Award trophy presentation will air on ESPN2 on April 7 in Los Angeles.
