KU volleyball adds Arizona State transfer

Looking for more depth in the middle of the court, the Kansas volleyball team added transfer Mmachi Nwoke, KU coach Ray Bechard announced Tuesday in a press release.

Nwoke played at Arizona State, registering 54 kills and 45 blocks in her freshman season.

“The timing couldn’t be better for both of us,” Bechard said, “because we need depth at the middle blocker position and she, being from the Dallas area, wanted compete at the highest level in a conference that brings her closer to home.”

Nwoke (pronounced: mah-CHEE WHOA-kay) will be eligible to play next season as a sophomore.
