Veritas swept by KC East

Tori Huslig had 27 points and 19 rebounds, but Veritas Christian’s girls basketball team fell to Kansas City East, 59-56 in overtime, on Tuesday night at East Lawrence Center.

“I was very proud of how we played,” Veritas coach Kevin Shelton said. “KC East is one of the better teams in the area. We hung with them and just kept battling. We had our chances.”

Veritas (4-1) will play Friday at Seabury.
