One year after placing second at the KCAA state tournament, Veritas Christian’s boys basketball team finished what it started by winning a state championship Saturday.

The Eagles pulled away for a 51-38 victory over Manhattan CHIEF during the fourth quarter at Haskell Indian Nations University.

Tucker Flory completed a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Trey Huslig and Kamaal Dowdell scored 10 points apiece.

Veritas ended the season with an 11-15 record.
