KU golfers tie for 4th

Kansas golfer Daniel Hudson fired a final round of 1-under 71 and tied for fifth Sunday at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif.

KU tied for fourth with TCU in the 22-team field, finishing behind Oregon, Colorado and Texas Tech.

“Disappointing day (Sunday),” KU coach Jamie Bermel said. “We were playing in the last group and just didn’t play well. After yesterday, I thought we would play well today, but obviously it didn’t happen.”

Hudson had a three-round total of 4-under 212. Other KU scores: Chase Hanna (2-under 214, tie for 11th), Charlie Hillier (1-over 217, tie for 22nd), Andy Spencer (4-over 220, tie for 38th), Daniel Sutton (8-over 224, tie for 53rd) and Jake Scarrow (12-over 228, tie for 80th).

“This was a solid field with three top-25 teams,” Bermel said. “I thought Dan Hudson and Chase Hanna had a solid event.”
