Lawrence Parks and Rec offering free class on estate planning

The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering a free class to teach residents the basics of estate planning.

During the class, Fundamentals of Estate Planning, attendees will learn the uses of a will or a revocable living trust and the impact of estate and gift taxing, along with many other topics.

The event — open to those 21 and older — will be 2-3:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Carnegie Building, 200 W. Ninth St. The session is free and open to the public. Another session will take place 6-7:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Dwayne Peaslee Technical Training Center, 2920 Haskell Ave.

Registration can be done online at lprd.org or at any Parks and Recreation facility.
