Baker blasts Benedictine

? The No. 4-ranked Baker University football team racked up 629 yards of total offense on its way to a 60-7 victory over Benedictine on Saturday.

Junior quarterback Logan Brettell led a balanced offensive attack by completing 33 of 46 passes for 393 yards and three touchdowns to just one interception. Brettell also ran for 63 yards and a score on seven carries.

The Wildcats (5-0) had two wideouts go over the century mark in receiving yards. Quanzee Johnson had team-high 171 yards on 13 catches and a touchdown, and Baldwin High product Cornell Brown added 11 reception for 113 yards. Brown paced the Baker running game as well, with 83 yards and two touchdowns on 25 touches.

Avery Parker and Keegan Schumann got in on the scoring for the Baker defense with a pick six apiece.

Baker will play Peru State at 2 p.m. Saturday in Peru, Neb.
