Lawrence Schools Foundation breakfast fundraiser to be held Sept. 16

The 15th annual Lawrence Schools Foundation Community Education Breakfast will be held Sept. 16 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, 200 McDonald Drive.

Karen Hough, a 1985 Lawrence High School graduate, bestselling author and founder/CEO of ImprovEdge, will give the keynote address. Hough, a Yale University and La Sorbonne (Paris) alumna, trained and performed with Chicago’s Second City comedic theater troupe before working as an IT executive and, most recently, an entrepreneur. Her company, ImprovEdge, provides corporate training using improvisation as a learning catalyst.

In addition to Hough’s keynote speech, the breakfast includes an address from Lawrence schools Superintendent Kyle Hayden, recognition of “student champions” and a performance by a group of pre-K students.

Sponsorship opportunities and tickets are available through Thursday at www.lawrenceschoolsfoundation.org or by calling the Lawrence Schools Foundation at 330-1941.
