Olathe ? The No. 2-ranked Baker football team faced a halftime deficit for the first time of the season against MidAmerica Nazarene Saturday, but the Wildcats went on to win by three touchdowns as they defeated the Pioneers, 55-34.

The Wildcats (8-0) trailed at the half, 17-14, but outscored the Pioneers 21-0 in the third quarter and never relinquished the lead.

Baldwin High product Cornell Brown went over the century mark on the ground and through the air. Brown rushed for 107 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries, and hauled in five receptions for 112 yards and a score.

Junior quarterback Logan Brettell threw two of his four touchdown passes Clarence Clark, who led the Wildcats with eight receptions for 170 yards.

Baker will take on Central Methodist at 1 p.m. Saturday in Fayette, Mo.
