Former Kansas University forward Cheick Diallo, who was generally regarded as a first-round NBA Draft pick in most mock drafts, wound up a second-round pick of the Los Angeles Clippers, then was shipped to the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night.

The 6-foot-9 Mali native was selected No. 33 overall, third pick of Round Two.

Diallo averaged 3.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in 7.5 minutes a game during his one-and-done season at KU.

Jeff Goodman and Adrian Wojnarowski reported the trade to New Orleans for a pair of second round draft picks.
