The Lawrence City Band will perform inside Wednesday evening because of expected high temperatures.

Organizers moved the weekly concert, which normally takes place in South Park, to room 130 of Murphy Hall on the Kansas University campus.

Wednesday’s performance, “Rockin’ the Bandstand,” will still begin at 8 p.m.

A heat advisory is in effect for Douglas County and much of the area until 9 p.m. Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to approach 100 degrees, with heat indices up to 110.

Correction: The theme for Wednesday’s concert is “Rockin’ the Bandstand.” The theme for the June 29 concert will be “For Children of All Ages.”
