‘A1C 4 Free’ event offering free Lawrence diabetes screenings through July

Family Medicine Associates, of Lawrence, is hosting a free diabetic screening program for the remainder of the month as part of an ongoing effort to help the community stay healthy, according to a news release from the group.
The A1C test requires a finger poke for a tiny sample of blood and results are back within six minutes, according to the release.
The screenings are available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Family Medicine Associates office, 4921 W. 18th St.
