KU Crime Blotter: Week of Feb. 22 through Feb. 28

The following incidents were reported to the Kansas University Office of Public Safety between Monday, Feb. 22, and Sunday, Feb. 28. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.

Feb. 27

• Someone stole $1,100 worth of tools from the bed of a pickup truck the evening of Feb. 27 in Lot 71, in the 1600 block of Naismith Drive.

• While serving a search warrant, police found someone in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia about 6:45 p.m. Feb. 27 at Self Hall. The person was arrested.

Feb. 26

• Someone was found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia about 2:15 a.m. Feb. 26 at Stephenson Scholarship Hall. The person was arrested.

• Someone burglarized a room in Ellsworth Hall, entering an unlocked room and taking property without permission sometime between Feb. 21 and Feb. 25. Loss was valued at $30.

• Someone burglarized a room in Ellsworth Hall, entering an unlocked room and taking property sometime between Feb. 21 and Feb. 25. Loss was valued at $40.

• Someone mislaid and lost his or her identification between Feb. 16 and Feb. 20 at the Kansas Union, and the item was not turned in. Loss was valued at $1.

Feb. 25

• Domestic battery occurred about 1:30 a.m. Feb. 25 at Lewis Hall. Someone pushed another person into the wall, damaging the wall. Damages were estimated at $100. The suspect was arrested.

• Someone stole a pair of headphones left unattended on the sidewalk about 2:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Snow Hall. Loss was valued at $200.

Feb. 24

• A sex offense occurred about 10:45 a.m. Feb. 24 in the 1400 block of Jayhawk Boulevard. The victim told police she was grabbed in the groin by an unknown man. (See related story here.)

Feb. 23

• Someone scratched the driver-side door of a parked vehicle in Lot 127, in the 1800 block of Naismith Drive, causing $200 worth of damage.

• Someone stole items from an unlocked car Feb. 22 or Feb. 23 in Lot 300, in the 1600 block of Stewart Drive. Loss was valued at $170.

Feb. 22

• A theft occurred sometime between Feb. 12 and Feb. 16 at the engineering complex. Eight magnets were taken from a classroom. It’s unknown whether the room was locked at the time. Loss was valued at $160.

• Someone kicked a bollard post off its base, damaging the hardware, Feb. 20 on Irving Hill Road. Damage was estimated at $20. The suspect was arrested.

• Someone stole a Kansas license plate from a vehicle in Lot 104, in the 1700 block of Engel Road, between Feb. 19 and Feb. 22. Loss was valued at $50.
