KU Crime Blotter: Week of Feb. 15 through Feb. 21

The following incidents were reported to the Kansas University Office of Public Safety between Monday, Feb. 15, and Sunday, Feb. 21. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.

Feb. 21

• A sexual battery occurred about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 21 at Jayhawker Towers Apartments, Tower C. The suspect prevented the victim from leaving the room, while rubbing against her and attempting to get her pants down. (See related story here.)

• Police found a person in possession of marijuana about 1:10 a.m. Feb. 21, just off campus on W. 19th Terrace. The person was arrested.

Feb. 20

• A robbery occurred about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 20 at Lot 110, outside Jayhawker Towers Apartments. Someone forcibly took money from the victim. Loss was $40. (See related story here.)

• Disorderly conduct occurred about 1:15 a.m. Feb. 20 at Ellsworth Hall. Someone set off a fire extinguisher in a room, activating the fire alarm.

Feb. 19

• Disorderly conduct and criminal damage occurred about 12:45 a.m. Feb. 19 at Ellsworth Hall. Someone entered another person’s room for a prank, then the person being pranked responded by damaging the door to the prankster’s room. Damage was estimated at $100. At least one of the people involved was arrested.

• Someone took a sign Feb. 19 from Snow Hall. Loss was estimated at $1,200. A suspect was arrested.

• Someone entered an occupied room overnight and took a wallet and its contents sometime late Feb. 18 or early Feb. 19 at Jayhawker Towers Apartments, Tower C. Loss was estimated at $315.

• Someone entered a room without permission, stealing money and two pairs of shoes, at Lewis Hall, sometime between Feb. 13 and Feb. 18. Loss was $500.

• Someone took a bike from the rack at GSP Hall between Feb. 16 and Feb. 19. Loss was estimated at $600.

Feb. 18

• An assault occurred about 10 a.m. Feb. 18 at Blake Hall. The victim told police the suspect grabbed his arm.

Feb. 17

• Someone spray-painted graffiti on Wescoe Hall on Feb. 16 or Feb. 17. Damage was estimated at $100.

• Police found someone in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a fake driver license about 7:15 p.m. Feb. 17 in GSP Hall. The person was arrested.

Feb. 16

• Someone took an unattended walker and some hearing aids from Allen Fieldhouse during the evening of Feb. 15. Loss was estimated at $6,158. (See related story here.)

Feb. 15

• Police found a person in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia about 2:15 p.m. Feb. 15 in Lot 300, 1600 block of Stewart Drive. The person was arrested.

• Someone cut a cable lock and stole a bicycle from outside Haworth Hall, sometime between Feb. 13 and Feb. 15. Loss was estimated at $1,500, damage at $20.
