Scott named to all-state soccer team

After scoring 17 goals in 18 games this season, Lawrence High senior forward Cain Scott earned second-team all-state honors, announced this week.

Scott led the Lions to a 9-8-1 record and their first regional victory since 2012. His 16 goals in the regular season tied a modern-era school record.

Among area players, Tonganoxie midfielder Logan Williams was a first-team all-state selection in 4-1A. Tonganoxie’s Dylan Kroll earned second-team honors.
