KU Hospital receives honors in U.S. News & World Report health care rankings

The University of Kansas Hospital is located near West 39th Street and Rainbow Boulevard in Kansas City, Kan.

U.S. News and World Report has named the University of Kansas Hospital the best hospital in the state for the fifth year in a row, KU announced this week.

The Kansas City, Kan.-based academic medicine provider was named for 11 specialties in the U.S. News and World Report’s 2016-2017 “Best Hospital” data-driven national lists, according to a news release issued by KU. Compiled from approximately 5,000 hospitals across the U.S., the rankings also named the University of Kansas Hospital as the best in Kansas City for the seventh year in a row.

Other honors accrued by the hospital in this year’s lists include a No. 13 ranking for geriatrics, a No. 17 ranking for urology, a No. 22 ranking for neurology and neurosurgery; and a No. 25 ranking for cancer care, among several others.
