Kansas rowing picks up victory

? Kansas University’s rowing team won one race and placed second in nine others over the course of 12 races at the Big Ten/Big 12 Double Dual on Saturday at Devil’s Lake State Park.

The Kansas Second Varsity Four highlighted the morning session, earning a victory against No. 19 Iowa, crossing the line in 8:06.9.

“I think overall we had good races today,” Kansas coach Rob Catloth said. “There are differences in speed with top-level crews, and one of our goals is to get ourselves in that top tier of crews.”

The Jayhawks return home next weekend for their only home regatta of the spring season, as Kansas hosts Kansas State for the annual Sunflower Showdown on Saturday in Kansas City, Kan., at Wyandotte County Lake.
