South lane of eastbound West Sixth Street closed after water main breaks

The south lane of eastbound traffic in the 3700 block of West Sixth Street will be closed for several hours as a water main break is repaired, city officials said at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

All other lanes remain open.

Utilities staff are on-site to assess the damage and make repairs. Utilities crews anticipate approximately five to six hours to complete the repair.

Traffic control devices will be in place to detour motorists around the lane closure. Eastbound motorists may experience delays in this area.

The water main is a 1980 6-inch PVC pipe.
