Elite softball clinic: The Kansas University softball program still has openings for its Oct. 11 Elite Skills Clinic. Softball clinics: Kansas Softball will be hosting a set of November clinics on the 7th and 8th. The 7th will focus on pitchers and catchers only. Hitting clinics: Kansas softball will be hosting weekly hitting clinics through Nov. 11. The clinics will take place on Monday and Wednesday nights. Space is limited and open to any and all ages. Per NCAA rules, this camp is open to any and all players grades 8 through 12.

Winter clinic: The Kansas University softball program has announced its winter clinic date. Grades 1 through 5 will participate in a morning session on Dec. 12. Decker ace: Jared Decker used a pitching wedge to fire a hole-in-one on the 137-yard No. 13 hole at Eagle Bend. George Guerra, Kyle Rockhold and Brian White witnessed the shot.

Hosford ace: Natalie Hosford used a 7-iron to ace the 107-yard No. 13 hole at Eagle Bend. Mark Hosford witnessed the hole-in-one.

Maple Leaf Run: The 2015 Maple Leaf Run will be held on Oct. 17 at the Baldwin City golf course. It is an all-grass run that includes the annual 5K, a one-mile walk and a one-mile kids run. There will be age-group awards (medals for the 5K, trophies for the kids run). Entry is $20 and includes a T-shirt if registered by Oct. 10. This event is put on by the Baldwin High wrestling team.
