Lawrence Public Library to host event on the story of ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

A Lawrence native and one of the creators of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge will share the story behind the wildly successful movement Monday at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St.

Brian Frederick has water dumped on him for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Brian Frederick, chief of staff for the ALS Association, will speak about the award-winning challenge at noon in the library’s auditorium, the Douglas County Community Foundation said in a release. He will also share tips for creative fundraising campaigns.

The event is free to attend, but space is limited. Those interested may register online at dccfoundation.org.
