Baker University’s football team jumped from No. 3 to No. 2 in this week’s NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 poll, tying for the highest rating in program history.

The Wildcats moved to 9-1 on the season with a 26-0 shutout victory against Missouri Valley on Saturday in Marshall, Missouri.

Baker is 4-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Southern Division and is guaranteed at least a share of the Heart South title with the win over the Vikings. With a victory at Evangel on Saturday, Baker will win the Heart South Championship outright.

Also joining Baker in the Top 25 from the Heart are No. 3 Grand View, No. 16 Benedictine and No. 19 William Penn.
