Graduation is over. Let the summer construction detours on campus begin.

Several projects are underway that will cause road closures and detours for cars and pedestrians for the coming weeks and months, Kansas University announced this week.

Three detours are worth noting:

• Jayhawk Boulevard reconstruction Phase 1 closes the intersections at 14th Street and Lilac Lane until June 22. After that, Phase 2 closes Jayhawk Boulevard from Sunflower Road to Lilac Lane through Aug. 1.

• 15th Street reconstruction closes the portion of the street between Burdick Drive and Naismith Drive through Aug. 16.

• Irving Hill Road Bridge reconstruction closes the bridge to vehicular traffic through July 31.

Detours are being provided and will be adequately marked.

Details and maps for these and other projects are online at KU Design and Construction Management’s construction closures page, dcm.ku.edu/construction-closures.

KU encourages students, faculty, staff and visitors to visit the site periodically because there may be changes or more street closures and lane restrictions this summer.
