KU baseball tips Northwestern

? Owen Taylor hit a three-run home run, and T.J. Martin belted a solo shot during a four-run fourth inning, and Kansas University’s baseball team defeated Northwestern, 6-2, on Tuesday.

Blake Weiman (2-7) earned the victory as the Jayhawks improved to 21-28.

“It was nice to see those young guys start to make some progress,” KU coach Ritch Price said. “We see it every day in practice that they are getting better, but you still have to transfer it to game speed. The three of them really played well today. That ball Martin hit was crushed. Taylor’s three-run homer was a hanging change-up, and it was nice to see him stay on-time and on-balance, and drive it out of the ballpark.”
