Today in Lawrence: KU’s annual Celebration of Books and Bad Religion comes to Liberty Hall

Terrific Tuesday

Another pleasant spring day is in store today. Temperatures will start around 50 for the morning commute and get up to 70 by noon. The high will reach 74 under sunny skies before cooling back down into the mid-50s this evening.

Book it

From 4-6 p.m. today, KU’s Hall Center for the Humanities will host its 13th annual Celebration of Books in the Hall Center Conference Hall, 900 Sunnyside Ave. The event will recognize the 32 faculty members who published works and will feature a reception and display of the books. Three of the authors — David Cateforis (“Rethinking Andrew Wyeth”), Jill Kuhnheim (“Beyond the Page: Poetry and Performance in Spanish America”) and Sherrie Tucker (“Dance Floor Democracy: The Social Geography of Memory at the Hollywood Canteen”) — will make brief presentations about their work and take questions from the audience. The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited, and an RSVP is required by contacting the Hall Center at hallcenter@ku.edu or at 864-4798.
